If you are like me and deal with sensitive documents one way to secure them is select the options to prevent download, print & copy for commenters and viewers. Unfortunately the google suite is built for collaboration, so the default option is always ‘editing’ rights. It’s a shame that this can’t be DISABLED by default. To check your document the settings can be accessed in the [Advanced] options for sharing – top Right of each document.
Sending a document direct from Drive as a PDF (instead of as a drive share) is not only a time saver (instead of downloading -> uploading to gmail), but retains the integrity of the original document .
Navigate to File -> Email as attachment -> Enter email address and send message as per usual. (Note your email signature will not be sent using this method)
